Ceiling Fan Installation & Lighting in Tucson

In a Tucson summer, a ceiling fan isn’t decoration — it’s how a room stays livable. Fans, fixtures and outdoor lighting, installed right.

Fans and lights, on solid ground.

A ceiling fan hangs over your head and wobbles at full speed for months at a time. It needs a fan-rated box tied into the framing — not the light-fixture box that was there before. We check the box and the circuit before we hang anything.

We install and replace ceiling fans, indoor fixtures and recessed lighting, add switches and dimmers, and light up patios, driveways and yards. Fan repair started this company, back when it was Thomas Electrical Maintenance.

Fan Tips

Getting the most from a fan in Tucson.

Summer

Counter-clockwise

Run fans counter-clockwise in summer to push air down — it feels several degrees cooler, so the A/C can be set higher.

Winter

Clockwise, low

On cool desert nights, low and clockwise pulls cool air up and moves warm air down the walls.

Sizing

Match the room

Bigger rooms need longer blades. We’ll recommend a size that actually moves air in the space.

Questions

Ceiling Fan & Lighting FAQ

Can you put a ceiling fan where a light fixture is now?

Usually, yes — after we confirm or replace the box with a fan-rated one and check the circuit.

Do you install outdoor and patio lighting?

Yes — patio, porch, driveway and security lighting, including fixtures rated for the Arizona sun and monsoon rain.

Can you add a fan where there’s no wiring?

Often, yes. We run a new circuit or extend an existing one and add a switch.

Are you licensed?

Yes — Thomas General Contractor holds three active Arizona ROC licenses: #344450 Electrical (CR-11), #367310 General Dual Building (KB-1) and #368807 Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (CR-39). All are Dual (residential and commercial), with zero complaints on record — and the company is licensed, bonded and insured. Look them up on the ROC contractor search.
